Colours of my heritage – Alan Lakisoe @ Casula Powerhouse

There is an almost religious look to some of Lakisoe’s work. You know those Hindu pastel coloured story pictures that decorate their walls and literature. In this exhibition however many of the people have a beautiful realism about them. There are elderly couples, a gym toned naked couple posed well not to offend. Each of the paintings have an accompanying panel of explanatory text to help give context. It is a small set but it fits well into the Pacific themed range of exhibitions at the Casula Powerhouse at the same time.

  1. Hi, love the piece you wrote in review of my brother’s artwork. I was wanting to know where the journal article came from? Here is a link to his website for more information and updates of what he is doing. Thank you again for the support
    Warm regards

  2. Went out the powerhouse museum today to look at Alan’s work after seeing it on Facebook. Beautiful art, so detailed, you can feel the pride and love he puts into it!
